HIMSS MI Chapter - December 2021 Newsletter
On behalf of the Michigan HIMSS Chapter, we hope your holiday season is merry and bright. As 2021 comes to a close, we look back and reflect on all of the events, progress, and growth of the past year. We are inspired by all that has been accomplished and look forward to 2022. Thank you to all of our Michigan HIMSS members!
- January 14, 1:00pm – 4:30pm: ONC Artificial Intelligence Showcase – Seizing the Opportunities and Managing the Risks of Use of AI in Health IT. View the event and register for free here.
Join us as we spotlight how federal agencies and industry partners are championing the design, development, and deployment of responsible, trustworthy AI in health IT. Watch updates from federal agencies working to support AI innovation, while attempting to mitigate the risks of AI in health care, including its potential for unethical use and exacerbating systemic biases. Additionally, there will be presentations and demos from industry partners who are on the cutting edge of responsibly deploying AI in their organizations. A panel discussion will also be held at the end of the day.

In 2021, the Michigan HIMSS Chapter put on a series of lunch and learn webinars for our members. If you weren’t able to attend these live, these are all available on our YouTube channel.
In June, a panel of industry leaders talked to us about the importance of digital patient engagement in a post COVID-19 world and the evolution of digital consumer loyalty in other industries, and how these are critical for outcomes-based care. Watch the video here!
We would like to thank our Chapter Sponsors who make our events and efforts possible through their generous support. For any questions or information about Sponsorship opportunities, contact Mr. Dan Boyle. DBoyle@uphp.com.
